ok, I have no idea how it happened. My teacher noticed that the screws that hold the braille lite are now missing. I have no idea how they got out, I don't know whare they are, and she doesn't believe that. Damn it, what should I do now. I've tried evrything that I could think of to find them, tell about what I new, and that sort of thing.

Dang a braille m 20 isn't that some kind of new computer? I asked my mom if I can get one for Christmas. But if they are porrly built and come apart for no reason I don't want one. Tell her to give you a lie dectector test if she doesn't believe you. Come on it's hard for screws to come out of a lap top.

no, it's a note-taker

I heard they are not making those anymore. I have a Braille Lite M40 and the dot 6 key sometimes doesn't want to work.

Oh it's a note taker. Someone said you can check your email with it so I thought it was a lap top.

You can with a dialup connection and a bunch of settings. I couldn't get it to work, (because I didn't know what I was doing), but I found a way to listen to my mom's phone conversations through my braille lite.

Well, I think your teacher should believe you. Call freedom scientific, and they should help out.

I can also hear the other end of the conversation. Hmmm. I wonder if Freedom Scientific knows about this?

Lol Jeanie my old shortwave radio could let me hear my mom and who ever she was talking to. I told her about it. We used to listen to my brother through my shortwave radio too.

How are you eas dropping on your mom's phone calls? Maybe that would work with a braille note.

actually everyone, regular dial-up modems can do that as well. i had a gateway computer with dial-up and my sister had a computer with dial-up as well. we used to compete for the internet and when i did get on, sometimes i would hear my sister or my mom talking on the phone. so no, it isn't the braille lite that exclusively does that. any dial-up modem can if it is hooked up to the same phone line as the whole house.

i always had trouble setting up email on the bl-m20 as well because i didnt know at the time what pop access was. there r much more advanced note takers out there anyway. i actually had a braille lite m20 a while back when i was in high school. a friend of mine and i were writing a novel on it. one night i put it on the charger and moved it out of the way of foot traffic. i had no place else to put it. well here is the funny thing about it. i didnt think this was funny at the time. my uncles dog comes in, and takes a leak all over the braille lite. everything was fried. my novel along with all of my school work was lost. god i was extremely pissed off because that novel was a great novel and i did not have the brains to back it up onto a disk or something. anyway. about a year ago, i got a new bl-m20, so yes, they do still sell them. i didnt get it through freedom scientific though. i got it through a catalog and the guy who sold it to me, gave me half off. i asked him if he would do that for my devision of blind services counselor if he bought it for me, and he said yes he would oblige the half off offer. i wasn't using the new blm-20 much because it kept crashing. so i got it repaired and gave it to a friend when i got it back from its repair work. i am happy to say that my friend, who previously did not have a note taker, is getting extremely good use out of it and is extremely happy that i gave it to her.
